Cover picture: The point mutations I241W and F244W individually stabilize an intermediate conformation of the Shaker potassium channel voltage sensor during activation and deactivation (top and bottom left). Interaction energies calculated along a conformational transition pathway generated in silico using the string method (top and bottom right) as well as natural and nonnatural mutations using indole derivatives provide clues on the underlying molecular mechanisms (see article by Lacroix et al., 635–652).
