Cover picture:Interaction of the urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR) with vitronectin (VN) induces reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. The cover pictures show the effect on the actin cytoskeleton of ectopic expression of human uPAR in growing Swiss 3T3 murine fibroblasts plated in serum-free medium on fibronectin (FN; top) or VN (bottom). Multiple protrusions with strong lamellipodial activity at the edge are induced in cells on VN, but not in cells on FN.
