Colorectal cancers with distinct metastatic potential trigger divergent early T cell responses
Marwa Saad,Alexandra Thoms,Yue S. Yin,Izabela Mamede,Afsana Rahman,Ruonan Chen,Sebastián E. Carrasco,Patrick W. Darcy,Norihiro Goto,Sohail F. Tavazoie,Angelina M. Bilate,Daniel Mucida
Saad et al. show that colorectal tumors with distinct metastatic potential trigger divergent early T cell responses. Nonmetastatic tumors recruit cytotoxic, Th1-like T cells that suppress growth, whereas pro-metastatic tumors downregulate MHCII and induce a hypoactivated, naïve-like state, enabling immune escape before metastatic dissemination.
