2018 Nobel Prize Collection

Immunotherapy has changed the direction of cancer treatment. James P. Allison at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Tasuku Honjo at Kyoto University have been pioneers of this field. Their studies on the identification of tumor checkpoints and their discoveries on the immunoregulatory role of these molecules in cancer have greatly increased the survival of cancer patients. We celebrate their winning the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with a collection of JEM studies that have made the difference in the history of cancer immunotherapy.
