Lysosomes and Endocytosis 2018

In addition to serving as the cellular entry point for nutrients, as well as the final degradative compartment in the cell, endosomes and lysosomes regulate signaling and metabolic pathways crucial for cellular homeostasis. In this special collection coinciding with the upcoming Gordon Research Conference on Lysosomes and Endocytosis, JCB Editorial Board Member Xiaochen Wang and Scientific Editor Andrea Marat have selected some of JCB’s most highly read recent content exploring the endo-lysosomal system. This collection sheds light on the molecular regulation of endo-lysosomal trafficking and function, as well as recent insight into the role of the lysosomes and the endocytic pathway in physiology, and in diseases such as cancer, neurological conditions, and metabolic disorders.
