Membrane Excitability and Reproductive Biology


nullYou are invited to submit papers on the topic of the Society of General Physiologists’ 79th Annual Symposium “Membrane Excitability and Reproductive Biology,” to be published throughout the year and highlighted in a special issue.

The review process will be overseen by JGP Editor-in-Chief David Eisner of The University of Manchester and JGP Associate Editor Teresa Giraldez of the University of La Laguna. They will be assisted by Guest Editors and subject experts Sarah K. England, Celia M. Santi, and Polina Lishko of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

JGP welcomes submissions that focus on increasing understanding of the role of ion channels, transporters, and receptors in the reproductive system. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, ion channels and receptor biology, and regulatory mechanisms, pharmacology, physiological functions, disease relevance, drug discovery, and novel methodologies leading to cutting-edge research and translational advances in reproductive biology.

Submissions of Research Articles, Communications, Hypotheses, or Methods and Approaches are specifically invited. The deadline for submission for inclusion in the special issue is December 30, 2026. Authors can publish in JGP free of charge or pay a reduced fee to make their articles immediately Open Access—learn more about our No Fee-Low Fee policy.
