JGP Authors Decide: No Fee or Low Fee
Journal of General Physiology is reducing its publication fees for all authors while offering the same great benefits and choices. Authors can select from the following options:
Pay no fee: Your article is published Green Open Access. It is accessible to readers with a subscription, and then it is publicly available to all 12 months after publication. You may self-deposit your accepted manuscript to a funder repository (e.g., PubMed Central) or an institutional repository in accordance with your funder/institutional policy.
Pay a $2,000 fee: Your article is published Gold Open Access. It is immediately publicly available to all. Some funders and institutions pay this fee. See Read-and-Publish Agreements with RUP Journals and Free Read-and-Publish Policy for Lower- and Middle-income Countries.
At JGP, authors always retain copyright and may self-archive in a freely accessible institutional or funder repository under both options.
Why submit your research to JGP?
Community Driven: Editorial decisions on research manuscripts are made through collaborative consultation between the Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors, all of whom are active scientists.
Fair and Fast: An initial decision is provided in less than two days. We limit rounds of revision, and we strive to provide clear, detailed decisions that illustrate what is expected in the revisions, with 98% of invited revisions accepted. Articles appear online two days after author proofs are returned.
Welcome Transfers: Submissions that include reviewer comments from another journal are welcome. You may also request manuscript transfer between Rockefeller University Press journals.
Format Neutral: You may submit your papers in ANY format.
