Analyses of the sap of Halicystis Osterhoutii and of Valonia macrophysa for iodide indicate accumulations of the order of 1000 to 10,000-fold in the first case, and 40 to 250-fold in the second case. The chemical potential of KI, NaI, HI, and CaI2 is greater inside than outside.
