CrossMark is a multi-publisher initiative to provide a standard way for readers to locate the current version of a piece of content. By applying the CrossMark logo our articles Rockefeller University Press is committing to maintaining the content we publish and to alerting our readers to changes if and when they occur.
Clicking on the CrossMark logo in either the HTML or PDF will inform you of the current status of the document and will also provide additional publication record information when available.
When issuing a correction we will update the HTML and PDF versions of an article to reflect the change. The correction serves to inform readers who have previously read or downloaded the article, and to ensure that proper indexing is achieved (PubMed, etc.). In addition to CrossMark, we include clear links between the article and its correction, and append the correction to the article itself upon download of the PDF.
When an article is retracted it will remain accessible in both HTML and PDF formats with a clear indication that it was retracted on a specific date. In addition to CrossMark, we include clear links between the article and its retraction notice, and append the notice to the article itself upon download of the PDF. The notice clearly explains the reason for the retraction.
Expression of Concern Policy
Expressions of concern are generally not issued as a separate document, but added as a note in the article HTML or PDF.
