Chromosome Organization and Segregation
A collection on mechanistic, structural, and cross-disciplinary studies of how the apparatus controlling division ensures accurate chromosome segregation as well as its interplay with the cell cycle, other cellular processes, and development. Articles delve into the basis of chromosome organization and behavior, centromere and kinetochore structure and function, and the cellular mechanisms controlling centriole, centrosome, and spindle function. JCB Editorial Board member Daniela Cimini and Senior Scientific Editor Melina Casadio are delighted to present this special selection of research advancing our understanding of cell division in health and disease, recently published in JCB. We hope that you enjoy this selection of some of our most read and diverse articles shedding light on the cell biology of mitosis and meiosis and welcome your feedback and comments (@JCellBiol or [email protected]).
