The horizontal axis represents time in milliseconds, ranging from 0 to 700 ms. The vertical axis represents flux in channels v units, ranging from 0 to 200. The graph includes a solid line showing flux values over time, with several peaks and troughs. A dashed line represents the best fit to the test peak flux function. Red circles indicate values measured by Srkzi et al. (2000). The flux values start high, drop sharply, and then gradually increase with time, showing a recovery trend.

Recovery from inactivation. A pulse of 140 ms and −14 $k T$ (corresponding to +10 mV) precedes a test pulse of the same amplitude and 100 ms duration, at different intervals between the end of the conditioning and the beginning of the test. The dashed line represents the best fit to the test peak flux $F_{P}$ (⁠ $interval$ ⁠) function, $F_{P} = F_{S} + (F_{P, \infty} - F_{S}) (1 - e^{\frac{- i n t e r v a l}{τ}})$ with $τ$ = 110 ms. The red circles are values measured by Sárközi et al. (2000), plotted in their Fig. 7B and kindly shared by Péter Szentesi. $τ$ in this case was 92.1 ms. (the two superimposed datapoints at the end of the plot correspond to interval values outside the plotted range).
