Asymmetric cadherin-mediated cell–cell interactions regulate interactions with the extracellular matrix (focal adhesions), and thereby control actin-dependent nucleus and centrosome positioning. Cadherins also control orientation of the nucleus–centrosome axis via a microtubule-dependent pathway.
