Naegleria amoebae build lamellar ruffles and other morphologically distinct structures.
(A) Amoebae were fixed and stained with phalloidin to detect actin (green, imaged using SIM) and DAPI to label DNA (magenta, imaged with widefield fluorescence). A single Z-slice (top) and maximum intensity projections (bottom) are shown for representative cells (treated with DMSO as part of a larger dataset in Fig. 3).
