Increasing SERCA pumping rate increases beating rate, as proposed in the coupled clocks theory. The largest effect is produced by increasing the V_max of the pump (represented by the model variable P_up), whereas increasing the pump affinity (red) makes a relatively modest contribution, possibly because of saturation of SERCA near the membrane.
