No peaks in fluorescence were observed in cells expressing cyto-GFP and Lck-GFP. Hence, those observed for astrocytes expressing cyto-GCaMP3 and Lck-GCaMP3 are caused by Ca2+ signals and not by movement of astrocyte branchlets.
