Rhythmic expression of TDP-43 in multiple tissues of Bmal1 knockout mice. (A–H) The hypothalamus, hippocampus, cortex, and liver were isolated from wild type (Bmal1+/+) (n = 30) and Bmal1 knockout (Bmal1−/−) (n = 30) mice at age of 4 wk, before being sacrificed at six zeitgeist time (ZT) points, including ZT0 (6 am), ZT4 (10 am), ZT8 (14 pm), ZT12 (18 pm), ZT16 (22 pm), and ZT24 (2 am). For each genotype, five animals were sacrificed at each zeitgeist time with each tissue lysed into samples followed by western blotting to determine the expression of BMAL1, TDP-43, and USP13 proteins.
