Simulation of CARs with CHAxmodels. Using the equilibrium constants illustrated in Fig. S2, we computed the full set of CARs (Eq. 21) with the CHA2 to the CHA5 model. Noise 0.25 (see Materials and methods). For the specified parameters, the wild type and maximally mutated channels span a similar concentration range. The CARs with intermediate degrees of mutations fill the range between the two extreme CARs and develop characteristic shapes and, thus, constraints for the fit.
