Blmcko/neo spermatocytes show defects in γH2AX accumulation. Spermatocytes from Blmcko/neo mice display abnormal γH2AX localization in pachynema when stained with antibodies against SYCP3 (red), γH2AX (green), DAPI (blue), and CREST (pink). γH2AX should be limited to the sex body and minor regions of accumulation on the chromosome cores at this stage in wild type (Fernandez-Capetillo et al., 2003); however, the staining in these cells is excessive.
