(A) Super-repeat sequence identity compared with human/chimpanzee nebulin. Sequence identity is high in primates (red), intermediate in nonprimate mammals (orange), low in birds, reptiles, and amphibians (yellow), and lowest in fish (blue). The dendrogram is based on complete linkage hierarchical clustering with Euclidian distance and is a measure of super-repeat similarity. (B) Phylogenetic analysis of nebulin sequences in 53 analyzed species. Distances are based on nebulin protein sequences outside of the super-repeat/Z-repeat region.
