For each patch, outward (γo) and inward (γi) conductances were estimated by taking the slope of the linear fit for all currents at either positive or negative ΔVm, respectively. The mean was calculated as an average across all patches, and the error presented is the standard deviation. The rectification ratio represents γoi. Statistical significance between γo and γi in the same construct was determined using a paired Student’s t test. Statistical significance between γo and γi is denoted by * in the Rectification ratio column. Statistical significance between mutants was determined separately for γo and γi using one-way ANOVA. One-way ANOVA F-statistic for γo (13.4806 > 2.57 for α = 0.05) and γi (173.5423 > 2.57) indicated significance, prompting Dunnett’s multiple comparisons test (α = 0.05) to determine which mutants were statistically significant when compared with WT.
