New predicted CCV-, retromer-, or AP-4-associated proteins are shown in bold. Known clathrin coat components were classified as localizing to intracellular, endocytic, or both types of CCVs (“shared”), based on published evidence (Table S2). New clathrin coat proteins were categorized as predicted in this study. Lysosomal enzymes (Lys) are cargo proteins of intracellular CCVs. Most transmembrane cargo proteins are trafficked by both intracellular and endocytic CCVs, and hence do not have an unambiguous known affiliation. For retromer- and AP-4–associated proteins, the analysis was restricted to coat proteins, and is likely to be less comprehensive than for CCV proteins.
