Mast cell VDR expression is required for optimal limitation of full thickness epidermal necrosis associated with chronic low-dose UVB irradiation

The data depict the numbers of mice whose ears exhibited scabbing (indicative of full thickness epidermal necrosis) and, in some cases, ulcers. Ears were assessed by clinical observation and/or histology during or at the end of the period of UVB exposure. *, P < 0.05 versus WT (Kit+/+) mice or WT BMCMC-engrafted KitW/W-v (WT BMCMCs→KitW/W-v); data summarize the results of the three independent experiments we performed (n = 3–4 mice/group per experiment), each of which gave similar results.
