PA tetramer+ CD8 T cells were sorted from individual young (2–3 mo) and aged (18 mo) mice 10 d after influenza virus infection. The percentage of PA+ cells for young mice ranged between 8 and 30%, and for individual aged mice numbers 1–6 the percentages were 9.8, 19.4, 2.8. 4.4, 6.4, and 6.3%, respectively.
Spectratype analysis was carried out with a panel of 5′ Vβ and 3′ Cβ primers.
Numbers of expanded peaks (>10% of the maximal peak height) for each Vβ-Cβ.
