The activation of CaV1.1a, CaV1.1e, and CaV1.1a-L1212/1215N was fitted by a double-exponential function, whereas all other currents were best fitted with a mono-exponential function. Numerical values represent mean, SD, and SEM. Statistical differences between mutants, chimeras, and CaV1.1a or CaV1.1e were measured with one-way ANOVA, followed by a Bonferroni multiple comparison test. Significant differences against CaV1.1a are indicated as ***, P < 0.0001. Differences against CaV1.1e are indicated as †††, P < 0.0001. For mono-exponential time constants, differences against CaV1.1e-LI are indicated as °°°, P < 0.0001. ns, not significant (P < 0.05); na, not applicable.
