Gating currents for the mutants were measured either on a COVC or a TEV clamp set-up (bold). The V_M of the normalized Q-V curve for all of the mutants (averaged from measurements performed in n oocytes) are reported along with the SEM (δV_M). ΔG_net was evaluated as Q_maxFV_M and its standard error as Q_maxFδV_M.
