Calculations are based on the 7.9-billion-bp HK genome with on average 64 chromosomes (Landry et al., 2013), the whole-cell chromatid lengths for late prometaphase, metaphase, and early anaphase (Fig. 4 B), and the numbers of Condensin subunits bound to chromosomes as determined by FCS-calibrated imaging (Fig. 1, C and D). The genomic and physical Condensin spacing assumes an equidistant distribution of Condensins along the mitotic chromatid axis.
