Results of flow cytometric analyses with various cell subset specific markers (Flk1, cKit, and CD31) show the percentage of cells within total populations of E11 AGM or E11 FL (Total). Apoptotic status of cells within these gated populations (cell subsets) was tested by Annexin V and Hoechst staining and is shown below the percentage of the total population. Viable cells are Annexin V−Hoechst−, early apoptotic are Annexin V+Hoechst−, late apoptotic are Annexin V+Hoechst+, and dead cells are Annexin V−Hoechst+. n = 3. Numbers of embryos analysed = 7 WT and 7 Vec-Cre:Gata2f/f. Significance was determined by Student’s t test. **, P < 0.01.
