JEM Early Career Travel Award

nullTo support the next generation of researchers, Journal of Experimental Medicine is pleased to provide the Early Career Travel Award that will allow a graduate student, or early-career postdoc to attend a scientific conference. This year, the award will support the attendance of Cytokines 2025: 13th Annual Meeting of the International Cytokine & Interferon Society, which will take place November 2-5, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. Katarzyna Chojnacka of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was was selected to receive a certificate and reimbursement for registration and travel to Cytokines 2025, up to $1,000 USD.

Katarzyna is a Postdoctoral Scientist in Dr. Sergei Grivennikov’s lab at Cedars-Sinai. Her research investigates the IL-17A/IL-17RC signaling axis and its role in shaping the tumor microenvironment during colorectal cancer progression and liver metastasis. Using mouse models, genomics, and immune profiling, she studies cell-type–specific mechanisms of IL-17RC signaling with the goal of translating these findings into therapeutic strategies. Her work has been recognized with awards including an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellowship. She recharges through movement, often switching between yoga, Jiu-Jitsu, and weekend hikes.
