Fly neuroblasts polarize perfectly (shown by pink labeling for a polarity marker) even when lacking both APC genes (blue cells that appear purple in combination with pink label). The mutant neuroblasts divide more slowly than wild-type cells and some have bent spindles (green label is tubulin), but axon development is normal.
