Stem Cells and Development 2022
A collection of recent articles on stem cells, morphogenesis, and development. These articles encompass the many intersections of cell biology with biochemical and physical processes that govern pluripotency and direct organismal development across species and using diverse methods. Readers will learn about exciting new work on asymmetric membrane growth in developing epithelia, circadian cycling that regulates muscle cell development, and mechanisms of chromosome separation during fertilization. This collection includes discoveries of how maternal and paternal spindles are regulated in zygotes, the relation of cell shape to hematopoietic stem cell biology, as well as the formation of hepatocyte lumenal space.
We hope readers enjoy this selection and we welcome feedback via Twitter and email. You can find more articles related to stem cells and developmental biology from JCB here, and sign up to receive notifications about our special collections here.
