The paper to which the above-referenced “In This Issue” news story refers has been retracted. We thus retract the In This Issue story as well. The authors retracted the paper by Liu et al. (JCB 160:899) on the basis of the fact that one of the major conclusions, regarding the function of paramyosin in myoblast fusion, is incorrect.
