Lysosomes 2026
This collection highlights recent advances related to lysosomes, focusing on their maintenance, regulation, and relevance to human health and biology. The studies featured here show how lysosomes are maintained by ion channels or how homocysteine inhibits lysosomal V-ATPase function. Other work links lysosomal function to the molecular basis of neurodegeneration and provides new insights into endosome biogenesis or the heterogeneity of the endolysosomal system. It further includes review and perspective articles on the role of endolysosomal vesicles in B cell activation or in conventional and unconventional protein secretion.
We hope this collection will engage readers with broad interests in lysosome-related research. We welcome your feedback on X at @JCellBiol and Bluesky at @jcb.org. Sign up to receive notifications about future special collections here.
